Manipulation and Me (Introduction)

Hello all, My name is Joey and I live in a fairly small town. Not to many people, But I  was happy with the size. Just the right amount. My life was beggining to get boring, I mean I was 17 and in high school. Each day seemed to repeat itself over and over and over again like a never ending freaking cycle! I just wish something interesting would happen here.

I live in a nice house with a pool in the back with my mom. She had long flowing blonde hair and blue eyes which were pretty and liked to dress casual. Like me being her son I also had blonde hair and blue eyes, my dad left us around when I was 5 but it didn't really bother me. I am the kinda rebellious type of teen. You know, types of teens who wear t-shirts jeans or shorts and dirty sneakers without caring how they looked to others yeah me all over it.

In my hometown I had two best friends. One was named Daisy and the other was named Geo. Daisy was the same age as me and Geo. Her hair was long and black and she had hazel eyes. She was a free spirit who dressed anyway she wanted just like me but she had her style and I had mine. In a way we were all best friends. Geo, the same like Daisy and me. Did his own thing too when it came to clothes and such, he was rock style, Daisy was a little girly and country, with me being odd and mis matching all the time.

We were all healthy like skinny and not that big. I mean out of me and Geo i'm apparently scrawny to him. He's taller than me but by some inches. Daisy is the shortest of course. But that's pretty much it getting up eating breakfast, school, then hanging out with my friends and going to bed. I though this would go on forever but boy was I wrong when something that would change my life forever happened.

It was during school one day, and I was in my last class of the day. Working in the library. It was a sweet job which I had, help her out and then I could take naps or get on the computer or stuff like that. Other times I would be looking up stuff about hypnosis, mind control, corruption, ETC... Which I loved, ever since I was little I was always fascinated by it. I had seen all types of kid shows and anime and even manga about it. It was cool the way you could control or make people do stuff they wouldn't normally do if they were conscious. Or give them suggestions and the occasional sleeper agent's and such.

My friends thought I was crazy at times for liking it but I told them "I have my interest and you have yours" Which would usually shut them up. I don't know everything dealing with "Hypnosis" or other terms such as "Corruption" or "Mind Control" would just make me smile but it sucked since the library didn't have anything on it. Sure I could look for it on the computer but noooooo, that darn stupid school blocked all the websites. So I sighed and went to take a nap until the school bell rang and everyone scattered from the school like ants. I decided to go downtown and look for some new anime or manga today by myself since my friends had "Plans" or something.

Walking downtown was fun, with all the sights you can see. One thing about our town was that we loved technology. Lots of phone stores, electronic stores, game stores and book stores and many other. We never had to worry about anything dealing with something electrical. It was like one big Best Buy, but we still had usual small stores like grocery stores.

So I was walking down the street passing by some of the usual stores and shops seeing the usual stuff. Nothing new yet. Until I passed by the book store but looking up I noticed this one was new and was really dark on the inside. You'd think it'd be one of those "Hot Topic" stores or something but I shrugged and went in. The store had that old theme to it that made me smile. It was classical but mixed that in with the new ages. Looking around they had new books and old books.

"Wow" I said in awe. The selection was endless and I didn't even get excited by books like that. I walked around some more until being approached by a woman who worked there. When I looked to see her I noticed she had long black silky hair and dark black eyes. Her skin was perfect and she looked like she was in her 30's but could pass for someone in their 20's. She wore a long sleeve black sweater along with a black skirt and black heels.

"May I help you?" She asked, "My name is Alana and I own this little store." She said smiling as she adjusted her glasses.

"Hello, i'm Joey." I replied staring at the mysterious woman who then spoke.

"Looking for something?" She asked me snapping me out of looking at her. I mumbled for a second before replying "Yeah, anything on Hypnosis?" I finally spit out.

The woman's face seemed to light up the instant I said that because the next thing I knew she was dragging me to the back of the book store until we reached a huge selection of books. She smiled and turned to me. "Here they are, all these books are on any kind of hypnosis and mind control and even a little corruption." She explained seeing my eyes light up.

"Wow, really! Cool I wanna buy some!" I shouted out happily gazing at each book as if I were in heaven. I quickly grabbed about five and headed to the front while the woman followed me and rang them up. She smiled after giving me my change back. "Come again", she said smiling and waving while I did the same back to her and left for home in a blur or speed and pure happiness.

When I got home I threw my backpack to the floor, said hey to my mom and quickly went to my room and shut the door behind me. I jumped on the bed and spreaded the books about and wondered which one to look at first. After pondering I chose to look at the first book about. It was a fantasy but it's main focus was on it so I flipped it open and instantly got hooked on it.

The hours passed and I found myself nearly done with the book which gave me so much delight and happiness. The book was great and I was adding it to my bookshelf which was filled with anime. Yeah, it deserved to be on that shelf. So as I finished it my mom called me downstairs for dinner. I sighed, but I was hungry so I set the book down and made my way to the table for dinner that night.

I knew that after reading that book that I had got from that store. I knew that wouldn't be my last time entering that store. For I had much to learn and teach myself and with the infinite books in that store I knew it would greatly give me the thing I needed to boost up my life.
